Should I avoid Fluoride in water & toothpaste?

Absolutely. As a Toxicologist, I advise my clients to avoid fluridated water, fluoride in toothpast, and all pesticides containing fluoride.

Fluoride is a neurotoxin, as well as excitotoxin which directly afect your thyroid, parathyroid, and pineal glands, as well as your adrenals, pancreas, and pituitary glands.

Your thyroid gland and its associated hormones are responsible for maintaining your body’s overall metabolic rate, and for regulating normal growth and development. As all metabolically active cells require thyroid hormones [T4 Throxine and T3 Triidothyronine that are regulated by TSH Thyroid Stimulating Hormone] for proper functioning, disruption of this system can have a wide range of effects on virtually every system of your body. Thyroid dysfunction is considered among the most prevalent of endocrine diseases. Fluoride has been linked to improper thyroid function by interering with Iodine, autisim, arthritis, osteopenia and osteoporosis. Using alkaline water filters can simply eliminate this problem.

Proper Stress Management for the Hectic Lifestyle

The majority of adults today feel like they are constantly running a marathon. They jump out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off, and barely have enough time to shower, dress, and eat before running out the door to take the kids to school and get to work. Their entire day at work is filled with one hectic task after another, all with stressful deadlines that have to be met. They come home and have to deal with the kids, cook quick TV dinner in the microwave, go to any extracurricular activities the kids may be involved in, do laundry, and hopefully sink into bed at a decent hour. With our lives being this busy and this hectic, it is no wonder so many of us feel the negative effects of stress. The busier and more hectic your life becomes, the more stress you will have to deal with, so it may be time to take a look at your life and see what you can do to cut some stress out, and learn how to better handle the stress you can’t eliminate completely. See Our Lunch & Learn Seminars section for major corporations worldwide.

If you think that your busy lifestyle is contributing to your stress, then you first take a step back and look at what you are involved in. Don’t take on any new responsibilities or tasks, and learn how to say no and mean no. You shouldn’t feel guilty because you can’t do everything for every person who asks you for something, that is just the way life is. If you don’t take time for yourself, not only will you be unhappy, but sooner or later your health may start to spiral downward as well, and then you won’t be able to help anyone, maybe not even yourself.

Learn to prioritize your life, and cut out things that aren’t absolutely necessary. For example, if your children are involved in so many activities outside of school that you can’t keep up with who has to be where, then you may have to limit them to one extra activity each. Odds are, they may be feeling stressed by it all too, so you are doing them a favor as well. Make the necessary changes so that you have the time you need for yourself, and still accomplish what absolutely has to be done everyday as well.

Many people suffer from stress caused by their finances. One way to eliminate that stress is to look at where your money goes each week, and learn how to create a better budget and stick to it. Cut out expenses that aren’t essential, pay off those credit cards as soon as possible, and watch your stress levels start to go down!

Take the time to organize your home and your work space. Don’t lose precious time hunting down shoes, clothes, keys, or papers that you may need. Develop a policy of everything has a place and it needs to be in it, and enforce it.

Remember to take care of your own health. This includes taking daily vitamin supplements, getting plenty of rest, exercising, eating healthy foods, and seeing your doctor on a regular basis.

Learn to do relaxation exercises, such as deep breathing, yoga and put it to use often.

Couple the above remedies with a better positive mental attitude and a more positive outlook, and you should be on your way to a happier, less stressful life. Please see the wellness IQ Questionnaire in this website to manage your daily stress.

Dr. C. Everrett Koop

I had the pleasure of meeting the former US Surgeon General Dr. C. Everett Koop; who said that out of 2.1 million deaths in the United States each year, 1.6 million are related to poor nutrition.” We can definitely change that by proper nutrition, proper life style habits and proper natural supplements. Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup [HFCS]

One of principal arguments food corporations have used to defend high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is that it is chemically similar to table sugar. Manufacturers have stated repeatedly that HFCS contains at most 55% fructose, little different from white sugar’s 50% fructose makeup.

But as it turns out, the specific amount of fructose in HFCS for any particular food product has never been officially tested. And when researchers tested brand-name sodas, they found that the fructose content is actually 65% with high glycemic index.

This is actually pretty shocking news, and could further explain just why soda in particular is so extremely detrimental to your health. As it turns out, the fructose content of the high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) used in many popular soda brands has been sorely underestimated.

… Remember, high fructose corn syrup in the form of soda is the number one source of calories in the United States, and it is very likely the primary cause of the obesity epidemic.

A single can of soda per day can add as much as 15 pounds to your weight over the course of a single year, not to mention increase your risk of diabetes by 85%.

Avoid HFCS in breakfast cereals, biscuits, cookies, jams, and hundreds of processed foods to avoid Obesity, diabetes or better known as Diabecity. See Our Lunch & Learn Seminars section for major corporations worldwide.

Wise Weight Management

The World Health Organization projects that five years from now, the number of overweight adults will increase to 2.3 billion, up from just 1.6 billion five years ago. This is Globecity!

Instead of dieting start eating breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a pauper. Avoid eating late meals & snacks. Consume 6 raw or steamed vegetables daily, 3 fruits, whole grains, beans, legumes and high fibre foods.

Reduce Carbohydrates, white flour, white rice, white bread, salt, fried foods, all artificial colors and flavors, soda drinks, fruit juices and excess coffee.

The natural supplement 5HTP derived from the amino acid tryptophan is a precursor to serotonin. That’s the brain chemical that regulates your craving for food. It makes you feel full.

You can get more tryptophan in your system by eating high-protein foods like chicken, fish, and grass-fed beef. You can also get it by taking a 5-HTP supplement. (5-HTP occurs naturally in the seeds of an African plant, Griffonia simplicifolia. Scientists discovered an enzyme called P12 that is found just below the skin of white potatoes. This enzyme promotes the release of CCK, a hormone that turns off hunger cravings and helps us feel satisfied. Although we may regularly eat potatoes, we do not benefit from this potato enzyme because it is killed by cooking.

The Global Post lists the world’s top ten fattest countries, as measured by the percentage of the population with a BMI index of more than 35. Most are island nations, but the United States is also on the list.

1. Nauru: 95 percent of the population

Nauruans historically engaged in fattening ceremonies, where young women were kept inside and fed to excess. That legacy, plus the more recent transition to Western-style meals, has been devastating.

2. Micronesia

3. Cook Islands

4. Tonga: All three of these island nations weigh in at a 92 percent overweight population.

5. Niue: 84 percent

6. Samoa: 83 percent

7. Palau: 81 percent

8. United States: 79 percent

9. Kiribati: 77 percent

10. Dominica: 76 percent

Other overweight nations include Kuwait and Argentina (75 percent), Mexico (73 percent), Australia (71 percent), Egypt and Greece (70 percent), Belarus (67 percent) and the United Kingdom (66 percent).

Obesity is now a worldwide problem. Dubbed “globesity,” the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that by 2015 there will be more than 2 billion overweight and 700 million obese adults worldwide.

The problem, aside from the wide prevalence already, is that the trend is showing no sign of stopping, which will have disastrous health effects on a worldwide scale.

A number of studies have demonstrated links between obesity and a whole host of serious medical conditions.  To learn more download a FREE copy of our ebook How to Gain at Weight Loss.

Water: More Precious than Gold. Drink Alkaline Water!

the health benefits of waterThe Most Powerful Healing Substance Known To Man” The human body is primarily composed of water. Water is not only beneficial but also vital to life — only oxygen is more important to human survival. Water plays an enormous role in how well our body functions. Simply put, the more fresh water we drink, the healthier we become. Knowing all this, it never ceases to amaze me when I hear people saying they “forget” to drink water. Would these people need a reminder to breathe? Water increases not only the quality but also the length of our lives! Don’t believe me? Let’s take a closer look.

Which is better, butter or margarine?

I do not recommend either butter or margarine. Use olive oil instead.

butter, margarine, olive oil, vegtable oil,Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys. When the turkeys are killed, the people who had put all the money into the research wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do with this product to get their money back. It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter. How do you like it? They have come out with some clever new flavourings.

DO YOU KNOW…the difference between margarine and butter?

  • both have the same amount of calories.
  • Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
  • Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study .
  • Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
  • Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
  • Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavours of other foods. It is still saturated fat that will clog your arteries!!
  • Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.

And now, for Margarine..

  • Very high in Trans fatty acids.
  • Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
  • Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
  • Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
  • Lowers quality of breast milk.
  • Decreases immune response. Decreases insulin response.

And here’s the most disturbing fact…. HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!

Margarine is ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC..

This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular s tructure of the substance).

You can try this yourself:

Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area. Within a couple of days you will note a couple o f things:

  • no flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)
  • it does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value ; nothing will grow on it Even those teeny weenie microorganisms will not a find a home to grow. Why? Because it is nearly plastic. Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Water & Wellness

“The Most Powerful Healing Substance Known To Man” The human body is primarily composed of water. Water is not only beneficial but also vital to life — only oxygen is more important to human survival. Water plays an enormous role in how well our body functions. Simply put the more fresh water we drink, the healthier we become. Water increases the quality and also the length of our lives! Try to drink the recommended 8 or more glasses of water daily. We discuss the importance of hydration during our Lunch & Learn Seminars. See Our Lunch & Learn Seminars section for major corporations worldwide.

Here’s how to figure out the right amount of water you need to drink daily to stay completely hydrated.

You need to drink half of your body weight in ounces daily. Let’s say you weight 200 lbs. You will need 100 oz. of water. Divide 100 oz. by 8 oz (a size of a glass) you get 12. You need to drink 12 (8 oz.) glasses of water a day to keep your body properly hydrated. This is a minimum. Your body performs at its best when it’s properly hydrated. We live in a such a lush world and yet you’re so dry inside our body because we don’t drink enough water.

Eliminate Diet Soda From Your Diet

If you were to ask 1,000 people why they drink diet soda and other drinks with artificial sweeteners, I expect the vast majority (if not all) would tell you it’s because they are “watching their weight” and these products have no calories.

While it is true that diet sodas have no calories, it has never been proven that they help with weight loss. In fact, as I have reported in this space before, many studies have clearly shown that diet soda may do the exact opposite: make people gain weight. Read the article about Excitotoxins and avoid consuming all diet products containig aspartame. Natural Stevia is a better alternative. Ask us about zero cal sugar the best natural alternative. info@DrGrantWellness.com

Recently, epidemiologist Sharon Fowler, from the University of Texas, presented research data to the American Diabetes Association on soda consumption. In her words, “What we saw was that the more diet sodas a person drinks, the more weight they were likely to gain.” In a CBS news article, nutritionist Melainie Rogers describes the same findings in her work with obese patients. Aspartame, Brain Cancer and the FDA

There are a growing number of Clinicians and Scientists who are convinced that excitotoxins play a critical role in the development of several neurological disorders, including migraines, seizures, infections, abnormal neural development, certain endocrine disorders, specific types of obesity, and especially the neurodegenerative diseases; a group of diseases which includes: ALS, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Huntington’s disease, and olivopontocerebellar degeneration. An enormous amount of both clinical and experimental evidence has accumulated over the past decade supporting this basic premise. [Read more...]
